Anonymous Hacks Westboro Baptist Church Site After Newtown Connecticut Picket Threat

I admit I find myself a bit torn tonight.  First, in that I never thought I’d be posting about the Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) on this particular blog.  It just doesn’t seem right.

I’m even more torn, however, because I have no great love for Anonymous, the hacker group.  However, in response to the hate group WBC threatening to protest the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT, Anonymous has decided to retaliate by hacking the WBC website.

Anyhow, as CNET has reported, “Hackers target Westboro Baptist Church after Newtown threat”, and at the end of that article is the video released by KY Anonymous that claims, among other things, that the sins of the group include “desecrating the name of God” by their protests and adultery, and that the WBC themselves are in violation of the Scriptures.  According to the WBC, “God sent the shooter,” reports the Huff Post.  Both articles report that Anonymous had released personal information about group members, including email addresses and locations.  How they gathered this information specifically is not known.
